I was an Orange customer for quite a few years and was happy with them but decided to shop around for a cheaper contract about a year ago as I was returning to University and needed to watch the pennies. I decided to take out a Three SIM only contract for around £15 a month as at the time it was the best value I could find.

I signed up online and got a PAC code from Orange to move my number to Three and this all went smoothly. My first bill was a little bit higher than expected because it took in a month and a bit but by the second month things were as expected.

Generally I’ve been happy with Three ever since, the coverage is good and I often get a 3G signal when friends on other networks don’t. I haven’t had to speak to customer services since transferring my number which is a good thing I suppose and the value for money is excellent as I get unlimited internet plus 300 minutes and thousands of texts (not sure the exact number but more than I ever need) every month.

Overall pretty impressed and I’m happy I moved. I would rate them 8/10. Simon.

    OK but not the best.

You kind of get what you pay for. Three are cheaper and better value than any of the other networks but you don’t get much in the way of extras besides your minutes, texts and internet, the coverage is patchy where I live (to be fair a smallish village a couple of miles from anywhere) and the customer service is nothing to write home about. If price is what you care about, go for Three but the bigger networks are a bit slicker.
